2023 Nissan ARIYA vs Tesla Model Y

2023 Nissan ARIYA vs. 2023 Tesla Model Y

Overview

The brand-new 2023 Nissan Ariya drives into the crossover EV market in style, featuring a sharp design, a long range, and a variety of desirable tech features. While the Tesla Model Y remains a popular midsize electric SUV for families, the Ariya certainly gives it a run for its money. Find out why the Nissan Ariya beats out the Model Y in the increasingly busy e-SUV market in San Jose, CA.

Performance

The Ariya comes with a standard 63.0-kWh battery that's able to produce an impressive 238 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. With the more powerful 87.0-kWh battery, the SUV's range expands to 304 miles. While the Model Y does have a slightly longer range, it has fewer configurations.

Exterior

Nissan's newest EV boasts a futuristic, aerodynamic design that optimizes efficiency. A sloping roof and split roof spoiler give it a powerful appearance, and it's the first Nissan to feature the automaker's logo on the grille. The Model Y retains many of its bold exterior features, but it receives few major upgrades. The 2023 model does come with a rounded roof.

Interior

When it comes to interiors, the Nissan Ariya has much to offer, including a surprising amount of passenger and cargo space. The plush zero-gravity seats provide plenty of comfort to both driver and passenger. Drivers can also stay well-connected thanks to a 12.3-inch information display.

The Model Y lacks the refined quality of the Ariya due to the use of more low-quality interior materials. Both SUVs come with a variety of safety features, including automated emergency braking, but when it comes to overall versatility and features, the Ariya is the clear winner.
