The 2023 Nissan LEAF is the latest iteration of Nissan’s incredibly popular electric hatchback, and it continues the history of innovation and efficiency that has defined the LEAF since it was first introduced in 2010.

Basics About the Nissan LEAF

The Nissan LEAF is the ideal car for those looking for a long-range, dependable electric vehicle. Equipped with a standard 40 kWh battery that can be upgraded to a long-range 60 kWh battery, the maximum range of the LEAF is up to 212 miles on a single charge.

The standard electric motor clocks in at 147 horsepower but can be upgraded to a 214 horsepower version, and both offer incredible fuel efficiency at 123 MPGe and 121 MPGe, respectively.

What’s New and Improved for 2023?

The LEAF received both a visual refresh and a consolidation of its trim levels for the 2023 model year. The exterior of the LEAF has been revised with a brand-new grille, front bumper, and updated highlights, giving it a modern and sleek design, the centerpiece of which is the illuminated Nissan logo. The trims have also been consolidated to the base level S and the long-range SV Plus.

Notable Features of the 2023 LEAF

1. The e-Pedal

The LEAF’s e-Pedal feature gives the driver the ability to customize their driving experience, switching between either coasting or regenerating the car’s battery when you take your foot off the gas. Of course, this is not the only way that you can charge the vehicle’s battery: the LEAF comes standard with a fast-charging cable that works with both 120V and 240V outlets.

2. Safety Shield 360

Nissan is known for its robust safety offerings, and the LEAF is no exception. The LEAF comes standard with Nissan’s Safety Shield 360, which includes front collision warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Both trims of the LEAF can be upgraded with adaptive cruise control, which comes with Nissan’s semi-autonomous driving software ProPilot.

3. Infotainment Features

The LEAF also comes standard with an 8-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration that can be upgraded with built-in navigation software. You can access your vehicle through your smartphone to remote start, lock the doors, and start the climate control system as needed. The sound system can also be upgraded to a seven-speaker premium Bose sound system.

The cabin is also equipped with a USB-C fast charging port in the front, and USB-A charging ports in both the front and back, to keep your passengers connected.
