Nissan Intelligent Mobility is a range of safety features designed to help make your driving experience safer than ever before. These features are intuitive and can anticipate potential issues that could lead to an accident. As your Bay Area Nissan dealer, we’d like to tell you more about how these advanced features help protect you, your passengers, and your car.

How Does It Work?

Intelligent Mobility uses cameras, radar, and sonar to provide the equivalent of additional eyes watching in every direction for any possible problem. These features are standard on most Nissan models and are available to add on others. Let’s see how each of these features works.

Automatic Emergency Braking With Pedestrian Detection

This feature will detect anything in front of your car and analyze its speed. This speed is then compared to your Nissan’s speed to determine if you’re a safe distance away. If the system determines you are approaching too fast and there is a potential for an accident, you’ll receive an audible warning, and the system will activate your brakes.

It can also detect pedestrians and apply emergency braking to prevent a collision.

Blind Spot Warning

This feature constantly monitors a 240-degree arc behind your Nissan and will warn you of any potential danger. It chimes and displays a vehicle icon on your screen if anything crosses its field of vision.

Lane Departure Warning

It can be easy to stray slightly out of your lane on the road, but this feature will keep you on track. If you are not changing lanes, you’ll hear a warning tone. This will give you the heads-up to pull back into your lane.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Reversing has always been a concern for many drivers, as it can be very difficult to see an approaching threat. This system tracks any movement behind you and will warn if it anticipates a potential collision.

Rear Automatic Braking

When you reverse, radar beams watch for stationary objects behind you. They easily detect the size of any object and the distance from it to your rear bumper. The system will warn you of any obstacle that’s too close to your rear bumper and it will also apply automatic braking to prevent striking the obstacle.

High Beam Assist

This feature automatically switches your headlights to a low beam if it detects the lights of an approaching vehicle. Once the vehicle has left its field of vision, it turns the lights back to high beams.
