spring flowers.

Everyone loves springtime in the Bay Area! Our weather is amazing, the flowers are beautiful, and the hot California sun seems to never set as the days get longer. There’s certainly a lot to do in spring in our city of Santa Clara, CA, so if you’re in town this time of year, we’ve got you covered. So you don’t miss out on the best, here are spring activities you absolutely must do this season.

1. Shop at the Santa Clara Farmer’s Market

Santa Clara’s weekly farmers market is one of the best in the Bay Area and proudly sells only the best quality goods and produce grown locally in California. Each Saturday starting in early April, locals flock down to 950 Jackson Street to see what our local Californian farmers and bakers have to offer each week.

The market stalls sprawl the entire street, so this is a place where you can really spend a whole morning shopping and getting lost in the delicious smells. Especially in springtime, you’ll find that fruit and vegetables really dominate the market (this is California, after all), so come down right when everything is harvested to get the freshest fruit you’ll ever taste!

2. Enjoy Spring Flowers at the Eddie Souza Community Garden

Each spring, Santa Clara’s lovely little community garden opens up at 2380 Monroe Street for locals to enjoy the best of spring nature. Residents are invited to plant their own plants and flowers if so desired, or simply come by and enjoy the beautiful colors and smells as everything blossoms.

Free guided tours of the garden are available on weekends throughout May and June as plant life is in full bloom. In addition to the plans and flowers, you also might see a demonstration of the beehives of local honey producers, and various other hands-on touching and tasting exhibitions.

3. Watch an Outdoor Movie at Sunset Cinema

Santa Clara’s beloved Sunset Cinema series kicks off in early April, and we believe spring is the best time to go catch an outdoor screening in the park as the days are at their longest and the famous Californian sunsets are the most magnificent. Bring a picnic blanket and some food, and join hundreds of other local families watching a movie on an outdoor screen in the park with the sunset and stars as a backdrop.

Screenings are held on Fridays in Central Park. Check the official website for this season’s schedule to see when your favorite movies are being shown.

Attending some local public events and showcases this spring can be a great way to connect with your community, and so too can getting your new car from a local Santa Clara dealership. So when it comes time for a new car, swing by Stevens Creek Nissan and pick up one of this year’s best models like the Nissan Frontier right here in town!
