Fuel Economy
Though the Altima does not offer a fuel-efficient hybrid or eco-friendly plug-in hybrid model, its two gasoline engines have impressive fuel-economy figures. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder powertrain with front-wheel drive achieves 28 city mpg and 39 highway mpg. With all-wheel drive, the EPA ratings decrease to 26 city mpg and 36 highway mpg – still impressive. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is slightly lower and returns 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the interstate.
Interior Comfort and Design
The Altima’s interior has a clean dashboard with user-friendly controls. The cabin’s materials are noticeably high-quality and far superior to those of the previous-generation Altima and its competitors. Comfortable armrests make driving and sitting in traffic more enjoyable, and the front seats can fit a broad range of body shapes with ample lumbar support. The rear seats are also spacious and provide considerable legroom.
Infotainment System
